Technical Writer

Summary: The Technical Writer will collaborate with our Dev and OPS teams to document the technical solutions they create, ensuring clear and comprehensive user and system documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with Dev and OPS teams to understand the technical solutions being created.
2. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
3. Translate technical and complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
4. Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides.
5. Update and maintain existing documentation as changes are made to the original solution.
6. Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff to ensure accuracy and clarity.
7. Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and prioritize based on team needs.
8. Provide feedback on product improvements from a documentation perspective.
9. Participate in product planning and stand-ups to gain insights into upcoming documentation needs.
10. Stay updated with the latest documentation tools, best practices, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Proven working experience in technical writing, preferably in a software development environment.
3. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into easily understandable text.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency with documentation tools like Confluence, MadCap Flare, or equivalent.
6. Basic understanding of DevOps principles and tools.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
8. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.

Preferred:

1. Experience working in a DevOps environment.
2. Familiarity with code and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Shell scripts).
